At Lincoln First, we believe God has called us to be people who are living his Better Story with and for others. For us, this means: working to create communities of welcome inside and beyond the walls of our building, helping people mature as apprentices of Jesus, and partnering with our neighbors to do things that are life-giving in and for our community. Godâs Better Story offers us all the ability to experience freedom from the âlesser storiesâ of division, cycles of brokenness, and isolation. Come join the Better Story!
Our Vision
Becoming a community of Jesus followers who live Godâs Better Story, inviting our neighbors in Lincoln to experience freedom from the lesser stories burdening our life together by trading Division for the Common Good, Cycles of Brokenness for Wholeness, and Isolation for Belonging.
Our Mission
Living Godâs Better Story with and for Others.
Our Values
Community (John 15-17, Eph. 4:11-16) - Being one ânew householdâ in Christ and inviting others to participate in this âonenessâ so that they can experience and live Godâs better Story within the active community of the people of God (ekklesia)
Maturity (Mark 8:34-38, Colossians 1:24-29, 1 John 1:5-10) - The ongoing work of being shaped into who God says I am in His better Story; the image of Christ. This includes acknowledging my own brokenness before God (confession of sin), the active pursuit of living in alignment with Godâs Better Story alongside others (holiness),and saying âyesâ to the privilege of participation in the serving life of this community of Jesus followers.

Generosity (John 3:16-17, Col. 1:11-23, Gal. 6:1-10, 2 Cor. 9) - Living a life of generosity means reflecting Godâs overwhelming, awe-inspiring welcome, given to us in the person and work of Jesus, to others.
